Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to lead delivery of contracts and projects across Scotland, based in Glasgow or Edinburgh with regular travel.

You will oversee operational performance, construction delivery, commercial outcomes, and client relationships, while ensuring safety, profitability and strong stakeholder management. This is a senior leadership role with a focus on growth and bid support.

Qualifications

• Accomplished construction professional with significant experience managing contracts, projects and multidisciplinary teams in a complex delivery environment.
• Strong commercial and financial awareness, including budgets, margins and contract performance.
• Experience supporting tender processes and managing complex contract negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery and performance of allocated contracts and projects.
• Provide leadership and strategic direction to project and operational teams with clear objectives.
• Develop and implement contract and business plans that meet customer requirements and wider business objectives.
• Ensure resources and delivery strategies are in place to meet commitments.
• Monitor contract performance against objectives and KPIs.
• Maintain oversight of budgets, expenditure, profitability and margins with commercial teams.
• Develop relationships with clients, stakeholders and supply chain partners.
• Act as senior point of contact for customers and resolve issues promptly.
• Identify opportunities to maximise existing contracts and win new work.
• Lead bids, tenders and contract negotiations when required.
• Ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and industry best practice.
