Job summary

Starling Bank is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer for a 12‑month fixed-term contract. You will act as a critical second line of defence, guiding/overseeing 1LoD teams, ensuring regulatory obligations are met, and driving good customer outcomes across operations.

You will provide specialist compliance advice, lead governance efforts, and support the Bank’s regulatory reporting. A strong background in UK financial services compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Senior compliance experience within financial services.
• Knowledge of BCOBs, CONC, LSB, PSD2, SYSC, MCOBs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide regulatory compliance and conduct advice to 1LoD.
• Cover Consumer Duty, conduct risk, SMCR, outsourcing, and product governance.
• Build strong relationships between Compliance and the business.
• Develop and implement conduct risk and compliance frameworks.
• Approve and sign off financial promotions across products.
• Oversee SMF applications to Regulators and maintain mapping.
