Job summary

Starling Bank is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to join as a critical second line of defence. You will provide expert regulatory advice, oversight, and challenge to the first line of defence, ensuring the business meets its obligations and delivers good customer outcomes.

The 12-month fixed-term contract offers the opportunity to shape regulatory practices across products and services, including approvals of financial promotions and regulatory submissions.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of UK financial regulation and conduct risk.
• Experience with SMCR, Consumer Duty and regulatory reporting.
• Ability to provide clear regulatory advice to 1LoD and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide product-specific regulatory and conduct advice to 1LoD and business teams.
• Develop and implement conduct risk frameworks and policies.
• Oversee regulatory submissions and sign off on communications and promotions.
• Maintain up-to-date Management Responsibilities Map and SMF approvals.
• Liaise with regulators and internal committees with excellent stakeholder management.
