Job summary

Starling Bank is seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to join our 2LoD team in Cardiff on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will provide regulatory compliance and conduct advice to 1LoD teams and oversee key risk and governance processes across the bank.

You will lead on consumer protection, conduct risk, and SMCR-related activities, partnering with the business to ensure good customer outcomes and robust control frameworks.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in regulatory compliance within UK banking and financial services.
• Strong understanding of conduct risk and consumer protection regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide product specific regulatory compliance and conduct advice to 1LoD/business teams with independent challenge.
• Cover current and future products, services and activities across the Bank, including Consumer Duty, conduct risk, SMCR, outsourcing, and product governance.
• Build strong relationships with 1LoD to foster collaboration between Compliance and the business.
• Develop/implement conduct risk and compliance frameworks and policies aligned with Enterprise-Wide requirements.
• Assist with the Compliance Team’s monthly reporting packs.
• Approve and sign off financial promotions and marketing across all products/services.
• Oversee SMF applications to Regulators and maintain the Management Responsibilities Map.
