Job summary

Plmins is seeking a Commercial Multi-Line Senior Underwriter to work remotely from the United Kingdom. The role collaborates with Field Representatives to originate and retain profitable underwriting accounts, guided by underwriter management.

You will review applications, quote pricing, and coordinate information to ensure sound risk selection. Responsibilities include renewals, endorsements, MVR checks, and adherence to policy construction and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management and Insurance or equivalent
• 6+ years multi-line underwriting experience
• Professional designation CPCU / ARM / CIC / AU preferred
• Apply underwriting processes to risks
• Analyze financial stability and liquidity
• Knowledge of commercial coverages and policy forms
• Understanding of commercial rating techniques
• Knowledge of reinsurance (facultative and treaty)
• Understanding of policy construction details
• Knowledge of CAT management tools and exposure
• Strong organizational skills for heavy workload
• Excellent written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

• Review applications for class acceptability and completeness
• Evaluate classification for accuracy
• Coordinate pricing with broker and Field Representative
• Develop additional underwriting information for quotations
• Refer risks exceeding authority to Underwriting Manager
• Process quotations by broker deadlines
• Review renewal files for completeness and accuracy
• Coordinate renewal retention and pricing considerations
• Verify MVRs and ensure compliance with Fair Credit Reporting Act
• Handle endorsements and policy construction issues
• Ensure forms are included on all contracts
• Respond to inquiries promptly and manage communications
