The Role
As a Senior Commercial Manager, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Senior Commercial Manager will make a difference every day in managing existing contracts, undertaking negotiations, pricing activities and dynamic contractual risk assessments along with supporting tender and organic growth activities at every level to achieve our customer’s mission.

Day-to-day, you’ll:

  • Provide contract management and governance support to business and commercial teams.
  • Undertake negotiations and pricing activities in support of organic or new growth opportunities.
  • Identify and implement pragmatic commercial solutions to achieve a win:win.
  • Support, implement and co-ordinate the execution of commercial strategies to achieve success.
  • Be a mentor and guide to other commercial staff sharing best practice, advise and recommendations to commercial scenarios.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides flexible hybrid working arrangements with working days at Ashton Vale, Bristol and Stoke Gifford, Bristol and working days working from home.


Essential Experience of the Senior Commercial Manager

  • Experience of leading all contract management activities across all aspects of the life cycle in matrix organisations from across industry.
  • Some who is commercially driven and can identify commercial innovation with a good business awareness of customers and competitors.
  • You understand and have experience in the creation of proposals whether as organic growth or for new opportunities.
  • Able to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines critical to our customer’s mission.
  • Someone who is able to use significant relationship management experience to work at a senior level with our customers to identify and implement pragmatic commercial frameworks.


Qualifications for the Senior Commercial Manager

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Engineering, Business, Law, Accountancy but not essential.
  • Functional qualifications achieved, or would be willing to work towards, may include Membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS), International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM) or Post Graduate Certificate in Commercial Management (PGCCM).

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. However, the successful candidate will be eligible to start on Standard (BPSS) security clearance but will need to obtain and achieve Security Check (SC) security clearance once in post.
