We’re on the lookout for a Senior Commercial Manager to join us at Stonegate Farmers. This is the final piece of the puzzle in our commercial team recruitment – a critical role through which you will lead and execute the commercial strategy for the Shell Egg division: driving growth, enhancing brand equity, and optimising profitability across all retail channels. Leverage market insights, customer relationships, and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen our competitive position and deliver sustainable commercial success.

You'll take the lead of our Shell Egg commercial division at a pivotal moment — with two talented graduates joining in June, it’s a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of the team and guide the next generation of commercial talent.

About Stonegate Farmers Ltd

Stonegate Farmers Ltd is an integrated free range and organic egg business organised across three divisions comprising farming and agriculture, egg packing and cooked egg processing. Established in 1926 and under new ownership since 2016, we have grown into one the largest free-range and organic egg producers within the UK. The business has been transformed through new investment and has advanced its competitive position within the sector with significant expansion in its core market and recently entered the chilled products market with new processing technologies.

A key distributor for leading premium egg brand Clarence Court, Stonegate Farmers boasts a customer base comprising of major mainstream food retailers, food service outlets and distributors.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of a customer-centric shell egg strategy across major UK retail accounts, ensuring alignment with both branded and own-label objectives.
  • Build and nurture strategic relationships with key retail customers and internal stakeholders to drive shared success.
  • Identify and capitalise on new business opportunities within existing and potential customer portfolios.
  • Lead commercial negotiations to ensure alignment with wider business objectives and long-term value creation.
  • Balance customer needs with internal capabilities to maximise mutual value, including ownership of pricing strategy, planning, and execution of price changes.
  • Oversee the successful execution of new product introductions and seasonal range changes at the customer level.
  • Champion the visibility, availability, and accessibility of Stonegate products across all relevant retail platforms.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the commercial sales team to build capability and ensure high performance.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Proven track record of leading commercial functions within both own-label and branded food manufacturing, ideally within fresh or short shelf-life categories.
  • Strong experience working with major UK retailers — particularly Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and M&S — with a demonstrable ability to build and maintain high-impact customer relationships.
  • A proven ability to lead and execute complex negotiations, delivering sustainable value and margin improvement across key accounts.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a senior commercial role within a comparable FMCG or fresh food environment.
