Brief Description

Network Rail is central to revitalising Britain’s railway system, delivering safer, more reliable, and efficient services. As a Senior Commercial Manager supporting our Capital Delivery Enhancements portfolio, you will lead a team managing all commercial aspects of major rail projects, ensuring effective contract administration, negotiation, and driving value.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial strategies, manage project costs, and provide procurement feedback.
• Oversee commercial management of frameworks and contracts, participate in negotiations and risk management.
• Monitor project reporting, manage contract variations, and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Lead and develop the commercial team, manage disputes, and support project close-outs.

Essential Requirements

• Knowledge of railway and construction industry contracts.
• Degree or equivalent qualification, professional accreditation.
• Proven negotiation skills and experience in contract dispute resolution.
• Minimum 5 years relevant railway/construction experience.
• Knowledge of railway commercial contracts management.

Desirable Skills

• Team management and development experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience with contractor accounts.
