A leading energy company in the UK is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to develop and manage cloud-hosted systems, significantly contributing to the Energy Markets Cloud Platform Services team. The ideal candidate should have significant experience in deploying cloud-native applications using Terraform and Azure DevOps, showcasing an ability to work independently in a collaborative Agile environment. As part of a team dedicated to energy innovation, you will oversee cloud solutions deployment and actively participate in project design and execution.

Energy Markets (EM) is the commercial heart of the SSE Group, securing value for SSE's asset portfolios in wholesale energy markets as we move towards our vision of being a leading energy company in a net zero world. EM plays a critical role as the asset optimiser, route to market and risk management function for all SSE's Business Units (Wind, Hydro, Low Carbon Thermal, Distributed Energy and Customer portfolios). EM enables SSE to focus its expertise and capabilities in energy markets (including Trading, Risk Management, Energy Economics and Advanced Analytics) in one centre of excellence and, with these enhanced capabilities, support value creation and decision-making across the SSE Group.
This role plays a key part in the development and support of EM cloud hosted systems as well as providing cloud expertise to the wider department IT teams.
