We are looking for an enthusiastic and diligent Senior Clinical Fellow to join our close-knit team in the Department of Anaesthetics.
Your role will involve participating in the department on-call rota, supporting Consultants and Specialty Doctors in theatres with elective and emergency cases across various surgical specialties including Colorectal, Upper GI, Vascular, Urology, Gynaecology, ENT, OMFS, Plastics, Burns, and Orthopaedics. You may have opportunities to request specific specialties.
You will work closely with all departments and colleagues to ensure high-quality healthcare delivery to all Trust patients.
Your responsibilities include providing supervised (both direct and indirect) anaesthetic services, ensuring continuity of care for patients on burns ITU or general ITU, and being guided by consultant anaesthetists to provide evidence-based standards of care.
You will pre-assess patients prior to anaesthesia, review patients post-operatively in recovery or on wards, assess ITU admissions, attend ward rounds, and ensure patients receive discharge notes from ITU.
You will join our Resuscitation Team, order and interpret tests, promote multidisciplinary collaboration, support governance processes, participate in regional audits, and provide advice, support, and training to junior staff in medical wards.
