Your new role

You will manage a portfolio of complex, high-value design and construction professional indemnity claims from start to finish. You will also support the Assistant Claims Manager by mentoring junior Claims Adjusters and interns, fostering their technical growth. While the focus is on design and construction claims, there will be opportunities to handle other PI claims, as well as claims related to Management Liability, Financial Institutions, Transaction Liability, and Cyber policies.

Main Responsibilities:

• Investigate, manage, and resolve complex and high-value claims efficiently, in line with policy terms and QBE’s Claims Philosophy.
• Support the implementation of the Claims strategy to meet business targets.
• Identify and investigate coverage issues to ensure company liabilities align with contractual commitments.
• Identify subrogation, contribution, and recovery opportunities and pursue them appropriately.
• Manage disputed claims and other significant issues to resolve and settle claims cost-effectively.
• Develop relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers to support the Claims function.
• Manage external legal providers, analyze coverage and defense reports, and challenge advice as needed for strategic decisions.

About You

• Experience handling professional indemnity design and construction claims within an insurance company, brokerage, or law firm.
• Strong organizational, investigative, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Excellent communication skills, including presentation experience.
• Enthusiasm for change and professional development.
• Ability to mentor and build strong stakeholder relationships.
• Understanding of regulatory and statutory standards.
• Proficiency with MS Office and London Market claims systems.
