Job Description:
The role involves underwriting direct and/or reinsurance risks within the renewal book and new business in the Professional Indemnity segment.
Products underwritten include:
- PI for Construction (Contractors & Engineers) annuals and SPPI
- Lawyers, Accountants, Media, Technology E&O, and Miscellaneous Professions (e.g., Actuaries, Real Estate professionals, Inspection Firms)
The portfolio mainly consists of Excess Business involving both lead and follow positions. Risks are worldwide, excluding USA domiciled.
- Manage assigned cases within the portfolio effectively.
- Coordinate with the existing team in London and Paris.
- Market SCOR's PI capabilities to brokers, clients, and ceding companies within Europe.
- Identify and support new business opportunities with existing and new contacts.
- Assist with internal reporting and market intelligence gathering.
- Support new product initiatives and research within the class.
- Underwrite following SBS Casualty Guidelines and referral frameworks.
- Handle administration, compliance, and system requirements for the book.
- Contribute to a global team environment through networking and knowledge sharing.
Required Experience & Competencies:
Experience:
- Similar level experience in primary, excess, or reinsurance underwriting in Professional Indemnity, focusing on large corporate risks.
- Knowledge of underwriting Media, Engineers, Contractors, Lawyers, Accountants, and other professions.
- Understanding of the London and/or USA insurance markets is preferred.
- Ability to manage a portfolio with client retention evidence.
- Strong knowledge of the PI class, market trends, and wordings.
- Ability to develop relationships in the marketplace.
- Proactive in managing renewals and new business responses.
