Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is recruiting a Senior Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background to lead the Skye Reinforcement Project in Scotland. You will manage delivery of major civil works and access roads, coordinating design partners and multidisciplinary teams to meet programmes, safety, quality and cost targets.

Expect strong commercial awareness, NEC contracts experience, and leadership across project teams from design through construction, with hybrid working and stakeholder

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering major civil infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and workstreams.
• Strong NEC contracts and change management knowledge.
• Proven track record of delivering safely and to high quality.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of civil engineering infrastructure and access road works.
• Coordinate design partners to ensure practical, buildable designs.
• Drive construction performance across safety, quality, schedule and cost.
• Lead project teams including Construction, Engineering, QA and HSE staff.
• Collaborate with Construction Director to align with transmission works.
• Develop construction methodologies, programmes, risk assessments and strategies.
• Ensure resources, subcontractors and plant are mobilised and managed.
• Manage project risks, identify opportunities and implement solutions.
• Monitor budgets and forecast performance with robust commercial awareness.
• Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and partners.
• Foster continuous improvement and high performance across the team.
