Job summary

Balfour Beatty Power T&D is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the Skye 132kV Reinforcement Project in Scotland. Be part of a team delivering a landmark infrastructure project while maintaining value for money and high governance standards.

The role offers flexible location options (Motherwell, Inverness, Fort Augustus) with hybrid working; regular site presence is essential to support project delivery and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
• Chartered status, or working towards membership of RICS, CIOB or ICES.
• Strong NEC contract administration experience.
• Experience working on major civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure projects.
• Excellent commercial awareness and cost management skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing others.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering results.

Responsibilities

• Managing project costs, forecasts and commercial performance.
• Preparing activity schedules, cost plans and tender evaluations.
• Administering NEC contracts, including CENs, EWNs and compensation events.
• Managing subcontractor accounts and supply chain relationships.
• Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
• Producing accurate commercial reporting and financial forecasts.
• Supporting procurement activities and contract negotiations.
• Mentoring and developing junior members of the commercial team.
• Working closely with project stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
