Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a career-minded Senior Engineer to join the Places Design Practice in Cambridge. The role involves designing and delivering civil engineering and urban development activities for buildings projects, including drainage, highways, utilities, and earthworks.

Qualifications

• Civil engineering design and delivery experience for urban development is essential.
• Experience in surface water drainage, highway and utility design.
• Ability to lead, mentor and provide technical guidance to a design team.
• Knowledge of design standards (SuDS, SfA, Building Regulations) and integrating with BIM models.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering activities contributing to sustainable development while applying health and safety principles.
• Collaborate with other design disciplines to ensure design integrity.
• Define project approach for collaboration with global design colleagues.
• Prepare and manage design solutions across project stages, including drawings/BIM, reports and specifications.
• Attend project meetings and supervise junior team members for accuracy.
• Maintain Technical ownership of Designer Hazard Logs and communicate residual risks.
• Coordinate project planning and team resources to meet milestones.
• Provide technical ownership of Design Decision Logs and Project Assumptions registers.
