Job summary

Carrington West is assisting an established engineering consultancy in Brighton to recruit a Senior Civil Engineer. The role covers ownership from concept to delivery across highways, drainage and civil schemes, with direct client and contractor engagement and a strong delivery culture.

Based in Brighton with 2-3 days in the office, you will lead projects, manage budgets and schedules, review designs, and mentor junior engineers while maintaining high quality standards.

Qualifications

• At least five years' experience in civil engineering and delivery of infrastructure projects.
• Drainage experience is essential within the Brighton team.
• Experience with NEC4 contracts and knowledge of design standards.

Responsibilities

• Own civil engineering projects from concept to delivery and construction.
• Develop highways and drainage schemes from concept to completion.
• Lead project tasks, budgets and schedules.
• Collaborate with contractors and cross-disciplinary teams.
• Review technical designs and provide guidance to junior engineers.
