Job summary

Carrington West in Brighton is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to take technical and project leadership across civil, highways and infrastructure schemes, from inception to construction. You will drive delivery, ensure quality, supervise multi‑disciplined teams and maintain strong client relationships.

The role requires a deep drainage background, NEC4 experience and a Chartered or progressing professional towards Chartered status, plus the ability to mentor and guide others while managing

Qualifications

• 10+ years of civil engineering, infrastructure experience.
• Strong drainage design and NEC4 knowledge.
• Chartered status or progress towards chartered (ICE/CIHT).

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering, highways and drainage projects from inception to construction.
• Provide technical leadership in drainage and design reviews.
• Develop and review detailed designs and build packages.
• Manage budgets, programmes, resources and delivery quality.
• Provide hands-on engineering input and solve complex challenges.
• Mentor engineers and technicians; collaborate with clients and contractors.
