Job summary

The Porterbrook Care Home, part of CARE CONCERN GROUP LIMITED, in Crosspool, Sheffield, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to support a team and deliver high-quality, person-centred care for 44 residents.

You will manage shifts, oversee medication, maintain records, and liaise with families and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. Alternate weekends required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care required (minimum).
• Medication administration training with competency essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team beneficial.

Responsibilities

Situated in a quiet area in the suburb of Crosspool in Sheffield, we provide Residential and Dementia care for 44-residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We have a 36hr mixed Day & Night shift as well as a 36hr Night shift vacancy, with the opportunity to pick up overtime on occasions.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.

We Are Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach
