Job summary

Valarian Court Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is recruiting a Senior Care Assistant in Didcot, Oxfordshire. You will guide a team to deliver person-centred care, oversee medication and resident wellbeing, and ensure accurate records for safe, coordinated care.

The role requires NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum); Level 3 and medication training are desirable. Alternate weekends and day/night shifts are expected.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum)
• Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Based in Didcot, Oxfordshire, our newly-built care home offers exceptional standards of Nursing, Residential, Dementia and Respite care for 70-residents. Senior Care Assistant Contract £14.52 per hour Contracted to 48 hours per week

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents. You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents' wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate. You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

Qualifications and Shift Requirements

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends as well as being able to work a mixture of day and night shifts. We Are Looking For NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards Medication administration training with competency is essential. Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial. Strong communication and leadership skills. A caring, compassionate and professional approach.
