Job summary

Pottersway House Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, in Church Lawton near Alsager, is recruiting a Senior Care Assistant. You will lead a care team on shifts, delivering safe, high‑quality, person‑centred care that improves residents' daily lives.

You will oversee medication, monitor wellbeing, maintain accurate care records and coordinate with families and health professionals. The role requires NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (Level 3 desirable) and attendance at medication training.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care.

Job description

Our new, luxury care home is nestled in the charming village of Church Lawton, near Alsager. We provide exceptional standards of Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite Care for 60-residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £13.71 per hour
• Contracted to 33 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
