Job summary

Watford House Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to lead a care team and deliver high-quality, person-centred care for residents in the High Peak area.

You will oversee shifts, assist with medication administration, and ensure accurate records while maintaining strong communication with families and healthcare professionals. Weekend work is required on an alternating basis.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach

Responsibilities

• Guide and support the team in delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
• Oversee medication administration and monitor residents’ wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate care records and ensure clear communication with families and healthcare professionals.
• Ensure the smooth running of your shift and care delivery on your assigned rota.
• Work alternate weekends as required by the role.

Job description

Our residential home is in the beautiful High Peak, providing high quality Residential, Respite and Dementia care for 36-residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £13.71 per hour
• Full and Part Time hours available
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
