Job summary

Watford House Care Home in High Peak is seeking a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to lead hands-on care for 36 residents, ensuring safe, person-centred support and smooth shift operation.

You will oversee medications, monitor wellbeing, keep accurate records, and communicate with families and health professionals; weekend shifts alternate, and full- or part-time hours are available.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum).
• Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills; caring, compassionate approach.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support the care team to deliver safe, person-centred care.
• Oversee medication management and monitor residents’ wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate care records and ensure clear communication.
• Coordinate with families and healthcare professionals for continuity of care.
• Work alternate weekends as required.

Job description

Our residential home is in the beautiful High Peak, providing high quality Residential, Respite and Dementia care for 36-residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £13.71 per hour
• Full and Part Time hours available
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
