Job summary

Westerton Care Home, part of Care Concern Group, in Bearsden, Scotland, is looking for a Senior Care Assistant to join our team and help deliver high-quality, person-centred care to our residents.

You will oversee shifts, assist with medication administration, and maintain clear care records while communicating with families and healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. PVG paid, pension and uniform provided. 5.6 weeks annual leave.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support the team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care.
• Take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift and ensure care is well organised.
• Oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to changes.

Job description

Our modern care home provides the highest quality of Residential, Dementia, Nursing & Respite care for 106-residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £14.50 per hour
• Contracted to 33 - 38.5 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.

You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.

You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

We Are Looking For

• SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
