Job summary

Pottersway House Care Home is recruiting a Senior Care Assistant for night shifts in our residential care setting near Alsager. You will guide a care team, oversee medication, and ensure safe, high-quality, person-centred care for our 60 residents.

The role requires leadership, compassion, and strong communication, with weekend alternation. We offer paid DBS, a pension, uniform provision, and 5.6 weeks of annual leave for full-time contracted hours.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is the minimum.
• Medication administration training with competency is essential.
• Strong communication and leadership skills are required.
• Willingness to work towards Level 3 is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Guide and support the care team to deliver safe, high quality, person-centred care.
• Oversee medication administration and monitor residents’ wellbeing during the shift.
• Maintain accurate care records and communicate with families and professionals.
• Work the night shift and cover alternate weekends.

Our new, luxury care home is nestled in the charming village of Church Lawton, near Alsager. We provide exceptional standards of Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite Care for 60-residents.

Senior Care Assistant Contract

• £13.71 per hour
• Contracted to 33 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview
As Senior Care Assistant, you will guide and support your team in delivering safe, high quality, person centred care that makes a real difference every day to our residents.
You will take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, ensuring care is well organised, consistent and delivered to a high standard. Alongside providing hands on care, you will oversee medication, monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to any changes, ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.
You will maintain accurate care records and work closely with colleagues, families and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
The successful candidate will be required to work alternate weekends.
We Are Looking For

• NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum), with Level 3 desirable or willingness to work towards
• Medication administration training with competency is essential
• Experience supporting or leading a care team is beneficial
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach
