Job description

We are supporting a key client of ours who are currently seeking a Senior Technician (CAD/Highways) to join their team on a contractual basis. This role is integral to the successful delivery of various highway improvement schemes through effective use of Autodesk Civil 3D modelling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing technical design drawings and models using Autodesk Civil 3D for highway improvement schemes
  • Preparing contract documents to ensure timely implementation of highway projects within budgets
  • Collecting, assessing, and disseminating essential information for scheme preparation and implementation
  • Preparing estimates for budget assessment and monitoring
  • Collaborating with contractors, statutory bodies, and other stakeholders to facilitate project delivery
  • Visiting sites to assist in resolving construction issues
  • Considering Health and Safety, and sustainability, when identifying design solutions
Job Requirements
  • Proficient in the use of CAD and Autodesk Civil 3D for highway improvement schemes
  • Experience in highway design and the preparation of technical design drawings
  • Competency in preparing contract documents and budget estimates
  • Ability to liaise effectively with external contractors and statutory undertakers
  • Possession of a valid driving licence (category B)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid working environment
