Scantec is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to own and drive complex mechanical design projects from concept to production in a Derby-based, on-site role. You will collaborate with customers and internal teams to deliver high-performance engineering solutions and support new product development.

You will lead with strong mechanical design and DFM fundamentals, using Siemens NX and PLM systems, while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Design Engineer or capable Design Engineer ready to step up.
• Strong mechanical design and product development background.
• Solid Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles.
• Experience with 3D CAD systems (Siemens NX or similar).
• Experience working with PLM systems such as Teamcentre.
• SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain it.

Responsabilités

• Lead design and development of engineering components and assemblies from concept through to production.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings.
• Develop new product concepts and engineering solutions.
• Improve existing products and manufacturing processes.
• Ensure designs meet safety and regulatory standards.
• Present concepts and final designs to customers and stakeholders.
• Support and mentor junior engineers within the design team.
• Work closely with mechanical and project teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
