Job summary

Manpower Group (UK) is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a 6-month contract. The role requires leading delivery of mechanical design solutions, coordinating design reviews, and guiding SMEs to achieve robust, compliant outcomes.

You will work across domains such as aviation, land platforms, autonomy and ship design, applying CAD/FEA/CFD methods and ensuring tight collaboration with project management and systems engineering teams.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND/Degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering field.
• Extensive CAD/PDM experience.
• Significant experience creating technical drawings from 3D models.
• Experience with budgets, quality and cost considerations.
• Background in manufacturing/defence environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of mechanical design solutions and manage complex tasks.
• Chair design reviews and guide SMEs through the process.
• Write detailed reports and manage technical teams to deliver optimised designs.
• Coordinate verification/validation needs and risk management with PM.
• Develop robust design methodologies and ensure regulatory alignment.
