Job summary

QinetiQ at Haslar Gosport is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the delivery of mechanical design solutions for complex tasks. You will guide teams, coordinate reviews, and push high standards in GD&T, CAD in NX, and composite design.

The role requires hands-on leadership with on-site collaboration and strong safety practices. Ideal candidates have significant experience with design reviews, GD&T, Teamcenter configuration control, and working with suppliers and customers.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND/Degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or Product Design (or equivalent experience)
• Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product Design degree or equivalent (desirable)
• CEng level against the UK SPEC and CPD (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Guide and coordinate design reviews, chair internal/external reviews and support pre-reviews
• Lead delivery of mechanical design solutions and manage complex tasks
• Provide confident technical advice and presentations to customers and stakeholders
• Apply safety engineering tools and contribute to Design Safety Cases
