Job summary

Scantec is seeking a Senior Tooling Design Engineer for a Derby site-based role with SC Clearance or eligibility. You will design tooling, jigs, fixtures and mechanical components to meet customer requirements, produce outline and detailed concepts, and manage design lifecycles from concept through detail.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Senior Design Engineer or Mechanical Design Engineer role.
• Strong background in valves, pressure vessels, structural design, tooling, or lifting equipment.
• Proven experience delivering mechanical engineering projects.
• Knowledge of design codes, standards, and safety legislation.
• Ability to manage full design project lifecycles.
• Experience with 3D CAD (Siemens NX or similar).
• Experience using PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar).
• Familiarity with engineering analysis tools (MathCAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS).
• SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain it.
• Experience mentoring team members.

What We're Looking For

• Good understanding of design codes, standards, and safety legislation
• Ability to manage full design project lifecycles (requirements, concept, detailed design)
• Strong knowledge of engineering materials
• Experience with 3D CAD (Siemens NX or similar)
• Experience using PLM systems (Teamcentre or similar)
• Familiarity with engineering analysis tools (MathCAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS or similar)
• Engineering degree (BEng or equivalent)
• SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain it
• Experience supporting or mentoring team members
