Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is recruiting a Senior Buyer for the NZT project in Redcar and Cleveland. You will implement procurement plans, run tenders, evaluate supplier responses, and manage contracts to ensure value, risk management and adherence to governance.

The role requires strong negotiation, stakeholder coordination, and market insight. You will build long-term supplier relationships and contribute to zero-harm and efficiency goals while supporting the wider procurement team across indirect and

Qualifications

• 5+ years in procurement within a construction-related environment
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in procurement/and or supply chain
• Experience implementing procurement strategies across indirect/direct categories
• Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills
• Knowledge of procurement ERP and e-tendering systems (Oracle, Jaggaer or similar)

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement plans for NZT project in line with strategy
• Lead tenders, RFQs and supplier evaluations with data-driven shortlisting
• Conduct supplier negotiations and prepare contracts/orders with governance
• Provide regular procurement performance reports and stakeholder updates
• Identify market trends and suitable suppliers, expanding the supplier base
• Aim for value for money, quality and continuous improvement in procured goods/services
