Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal Electrical Building Services Engineer to join the Energy Networks team in the UK. You will design building services for energy infrastructure projects, lead multidisciplinary collaboration, and drive sustainable solutions across substations and converter stations.

You will mentor junior engineers, review technical documentation, and contribute to bids and project delivery, with a hybrid working arrangement and opportunities across the energy transition.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services Engineering or related field
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership
• Experience delivering building services design in regulated environments
• Ability to produce and review technical reports and documentation
• Experience using industry-standard design software and tools
• Strong understanding of UK/European standards and best practice
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Self-motivated with proactive problem solving

Responsibilities

• Deliver building services designs for energy infrastructure and industrial facilities
• Produce and review detailed design calculations
• Prepare technical documentation including basis of design reports and specifications
• Develop and review drawings for HVAC, electrical services, and water systems
• Collaborate with protection, civil, structural, and other engineering disciplines
• Support sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions
• Assist in bids, proposals, and fee estimates
• Coordinate project deliverables to quality, budget, and schedule
