Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal Electrical Building Services Engineer to lead and coordinate electrical design across major projects in the UK. Role emphasizes regulatory compliance, multi-disciplinary collaboration, and technical excellence within a secure, highly regulated sector.

You will mentor teams, manage design documentation, and drive bid support while ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery across projects for clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services (Electrical biased) or Electrical Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) and membership in a professional body.
• Experience in electrical building services design within regulated sectors.

Responsibilities

• Review, governance, assurance and approval of electrical building services designs.
• Lead multi-disciplinary design teams to deliver electrical building services designs.
• Mentor and develop engineering capability across projects.
• Ensure safety and quality standards compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Lead estimates of work elements for bids and proposals.
• Collaborate with project/engineering managers and maintain client relationships.
