Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Manchester to lead electrical design across multiple sectors, coordinating with other disciplines and clients. You will prepare engineering documents, manage timescales, and oversee junior staff on diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified and Chartered with CIBSE or IET and able to lead electrical services on multi-disciplinary projects.
• Experience in electrical building services across multiple sectors and strong client-facing communication.
• Proven ability to mentor graduates and lead teams on complex design tasks.
• Knowledge of UK and European standards and best practice guides.
• Proficiency with design packages such as Amtech, Relux, Dialux, BIM, AutoCAD and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical elements of large projects and/or a portfolio of smaller projects.
• Prepare documents, reports, and health and safety risk assessments; manage timescales and budgets.
• Design and specification delivery (drawings, calculations, specs) and collaborate with other disciplines.
• Coach junior staff and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders.
• Develop programmes for scheduling and reporting deliverables; ensure profitability targets.
