Job summary

Connect Plus Services, part of Balfour Beatty, seeks a Senior Structural Engineer (Bridges) to lead the assessment and strengthening of highway structures on the M25. You will oversee external consultants, mentor the design team and ensure designs meet National Highways standards and project budgets.

You will collaborate with asset management and project teams, delivering safe, innovative solutions while promoting best practice across the engineering function.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural assessment of bridges and viaducts across the M25 network, reviewing and ensuring designs meet National Highways and DBFO standards.
• Coordinate design work from external consultants and internal resources, manage delivery to scope, programme and budget, and mentor engineers in the team.
• Develop and deliver asset management forward plans, performing optioning, feasibility studies and whole-life costing to identify cost-effective solutions.
• Lead design review processes, support gateway reviews, and ensure compliance with DMRB, Eurocodes and MCHW while maintaining stakeholder relationships.
