Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Bridge Engineer to shape high‑quality civil and structural designs for major UK projects within the Bridges and Civils team. The role involves leading design delivery, collaborating with national and international teams, and guiding junior staff across ongoing transport schemes.

You will work on innovative solutions for schemes like Lower Thames Crossing and M25 projects, with a focus on safety, sustainability, and robust infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional qualification (CEng/IEng) and ICE or IStructE membership.
• Experience with key clients such as Transport Scotland, National Highways, Network Rail, and local authorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop high‑quality civil and structural designs for new constructions, renewals, maintenance and assessments.
• Lead design teams across multi‑disciplinary projects and manage stakeholders.
• Produce and review design documentation: sketches, drawings, 3D BIM, calculations and specifications.
• Lead bids and client relationships, driving new business opportunities.
• Provide guidance to junior staff and develop capability within the team.
