Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate/Associate Director to lead the structural engineering delivery for Civil infrastructure projects. You will head project teams, manage client relationships, and drive technical excellence and innovation in bridge and civil structures.

The role requires Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer status with substantial post-qualification experience, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering complex bridge projects with a focus on design, maintenance, and

Qualifications

Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer with extensive post-qualification experience.
Proven ability to manage complex bridge projects.
Experience in bridge design, maintenance and assessment.
Strong commercial awareness and client-facing skills.
Knowledge of Eurocodes and their application to bridge design.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Lead the bridge/civil engineering function across projects of varying sizes, ensuring delivery to high standards of quality and safety.
Manage client relationships and provide strategic guidance on complex challenges.
Drive innovation in structural design, digital engineering, and sustainability initiatives.
Mentor and develop engineers and technical teams.
Support business development through proposals, bids, and client presentations.
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards across all projects.
