Senior Backend Software Engineer - Go

Location: Hybrid - Birmingham (2 days in office)

Salary: £70k-£80k plus benefits

We are hiring for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a high-performing product engineering team. This is a hands-on role focused on designing and building robust services and APIs that power an ambitious platform used by customers around the world.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Back End services using Go and gRPC
• Work with infrastructure tools like Kubernetes, AWS, and Terraform to ensure systems are scalable and reliable
• Collaborate with product, Front End, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end features
• Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to best practices across the team
• Support and mentor other developers, contributing to a strong engineering culture

Tech stack

• Go (Golang), gRPC, PostgreSQL
• AWS (ECS, Lambda, etc), Kubernetes, Terraform
• CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, and modern cloud tooling

Qualifications

• Strong experience building Back End systems with Go
