Job summary

RMS Recruitment is assisting an automotive client in recruiting a Technical Operations Manager. This role will oversee the Mechanical and Bodyshop Department, leading a team of technicians and mechanics to deliver high-quality repairs, while optimizing workflows and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will manage resources, schedules and budgets, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with other departments to implement innovative workshop solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven technical experience within the automotive industry, especially in mechanical repairs and workshop management.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical processes, methods, and latest industry techniques.
• Experience in leading and managing a workshop team.
• Familiar with Health & Safety regulations relevant to mechanical workshop operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to mechanics and bodyshop staff to ensure quality repairs.
• Oversee day-to-day workshop operations, scheduling, and productivity targets.
• Lead, develop and coach a team of technicians, fostering high performance.
• Establish quality control measures and ensure adherence to safety standards and risk assessments.
• Oversee procurement and maintenance of workshop equipment, tools and materials.
• Maintain records of activity, budgets, and technical specifications for management review.
