Job summary

Resourcing Group is seeking an experienced Workshop Manager to lead the end-to-end repair, refurbishment and operational management of a busy technical workshop in Greater London, supporting a large-scale, customer-facing technology environment.

You will manage a multidisciplinary team, oversee third-party logistics, ensure quality and safety compliance, drive continuous improvement, and produce regular reports on performance and turnaround times.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Significant experience managing technical workshop operations.
• Strong knowledge of diagnostics and repair of electronic/electro-mechanical equipment.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Experience meeting operational KPI targets and managing third-party suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operation of the technical workshop, ensuring repair, refurbishment and testing of equipment.
• Provide leadership to Workshop Team Leaders, Repair Engineers, Technical Specialists and Admin staff.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, health and safety requirements and service measures.
• Act as senior escalation point for complex technical and operational issues.
• Plan and prioritise repair activities, allocate resources and expertise.
• Oversee stock control, spare parts inventory and logistics coordination.
• Drive workforce development through coaching, performance management and succession planning.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and SLAs.
• Support forecasting, capacity planning, budgeting and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Produce management reports on workshop performance, turnaround times and quality metrics.
• Identify opportunities to improve workshop efficiency and repair processes.
