Job summary

NMS Recruit Limited is seeking a Workshop Foreman to plan workloads, allocate jobs and support technicians on the workshop floor. You will play a key role in maintaining productivity, reducing downtime and ensuring standards of workmanship across the department.

The successful candidate will ideally have supervisory or team-leadership experience, strong technical knowledge of servicing, diagnostics and repairs, and a calm, practical approach to decision-making.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising or leading a team in a workshop or similar environment.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and team-management abilities.
• A solid commitment to safety, quality and compliance.
• Hands-on technical knowledge to support diagnostics, servicing and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and coordinating the workshop's daily operations
• Planning workloads and allocating jobs to technicians and apprentices
• Monitoring progress to ensure work is completed safely and on schedule
• Providing hands-on technical support with diagnostics, servicing, repairs and fault-finding
• Inspecting completed work and maintaining high quality-control standards
• Supporting, motivating and developing technicians and apprentices
• Prioritising urgent repairs and minimising downtime
• Liaising with service advisors, parts teams, suppliers and management
• Ensuring tools and workshop facilities are maintained
• Completing job cards, inspection sheets and compliance documentation accurately
• Promoting safe working practices and maintaining a clean workshop
