Job summary

Forvis Mazars LLP in the UK is seeking an Audit Assistant Manager (SN2) to take the lead on multiple mid-market audits, from planning through to completion, while supervising junior staff and maintaining strong client relationships.

You will apply UK GAAP/FRS 102, IFRS, and the Companies Act, draft key reporting outputs, manage budgets, and contribute to process improvements in a collaborative, inclusive team environment.

Qualifications

• ACA / CA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualification.
• External audit experience, ideally with Mid-Market, SMEs and privately owned businesses.
• Experience leading audits from planning to completion with increasing client responsibility.
• Experience supervising and coaching trainees and seniors.
• Up-to-date UK GAAP (including FRS 102), IFRS, and the Companies Act knowledge.
• Ability to build professional client relationships and handle queries.
• Mentoring junior team members and providing feedback.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Proficient in audit software and MS Office.
• Ability to manage budgets and ensure quality & risk processes.
• Willingness to contribute to process improvements and innovative approaches.
• Analytical thinking and practical problem solving.
• Knowledge sharing and networking to support firm growth.

Responsibilities

• Audit delivery for Mid-Market, SMEs and privately owned businesses within budget and timelines.
• Develop audit strategies and scoping plans with effective resources.
• Apply UK GAAP/FRS 102/IFRS and Companies Act knowledge in audits.
• Draft reporting outputs like audit opinions and group packs.
• Lead audit assistants and seniors during fieldwork.
• Provide on-the-job training and feedback.
• Ensure files meet quality and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain client relationships and respond promptly.
• Support cross-service line collaboration and business development.
