Job summary

Forvis Mazars is seeking an Audit Assistant Manager (SN2) to lead audits for mid-market and SME clients from planning through completion. You will supervise junior staff, manage client communications, and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables while upholding professional standards.

You will apply UK GAAP/IFRS knowledge, assist with planning, budgeting, and cross-team collaboration, and contribute to business development and service enhancements within a values-driven environment.

Qualifications

• ACA/CA/ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience leading external audit assignments, with increasing responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP (including FRS 102), IFRS and the Companies Act.
• Experience supervising and coaching junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead audits for mid-market, SMEs and privately owned businesses from planning to completion.
• Develop audit strategies and scoping plans, manage resources and timelines.
• Apply up-to-date technical knowledge to assignments and escalate complex issues.
• Draft key reporting outputs and support review by Managers and Partners.
• Supervise audit trainees and seniors, provide feedback and coaching.
• Ensure quality, risk management and regulatory compliance across files.
• Maintain strong client relationships and respond promptly to requests.
• Monitor time spent against budget and assist with billing.
• Collaborate across service lines to drive value for clients.
