Job summary

Forvis Mazars in the UK seeks an Audit Assistant Manager (SN2) to lead multiple engagements from planning through completion. You will supervise junior staff, manage client communications, and ensure timely, high-quality audit services.

You will apply UK GAAP/FRS 102, IFRS, and Companies Act requirements, while coaching teams, managing budgets, and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients across public sector bodies.

Qualifications

• ACA / CA / ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience leading external audits, especially public sector bodies.
• Ability to manage client relationships and expectations.
• Strong communication, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102), IFRS and Companies Act.
• Experience supervising juniors and seniors on fieldwork.
• Awareness of budgets, billing processes and value-add opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Audit Delivery – lead audits from planning to completion for local government and NHS bodies.
• Planning & Organisation – develop audit strategies and scoping plans with timelines.
• Technical Application – apply UK GAAP/IFRS and Companies Act to assignments.
• Review & Reporting – draft audit outputs for review by managers/partners.
• Team Support – supervise audit assistants and seniors on fieldwork.
• Coaching & Development – mentor junior team members with feedback.
• Quality & Compliance – ensure files meet firm standards and risk controls.
• Client Relationships – act as day-to-day contact and manage inquiries.
• Commercial Awareness – monitor time; support billing and cross-sell where appropriate.
• Collaboration – work with other service lines on firm-wide initiatives.
