Job summary

Forvis Mazars UK is seeking an Audit Assistant Manager (SN2) to lead multiple audits from planning through completion for mid-market and SME clients. You will supervise junior staff, manage client communications, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality audit work.

You will apply UK GAAP/FRS102, IFRS and the Companies Act, develop audit strategies, monitor budgets, and contribute to firm-wide initiatives while building strong client relationships across a diverse client base.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/CA/ACCA (or equivalent) with UK recognition.
• Experience in external audit for Mid-Market, SMEs, and privately owned businesses.
• Experience leading audit engagements from planning to completion and managing client relationships.
• Experience supervising and coaching junior staff.
• Up-to-date knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and Companies Act.
• Strong communication with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Audit delivery for Mid-Market, SMEs, and privately owned businesses from planning to completion.
• Develop audit strategies and scoping plans; manage resources and timelines.
• Apply knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102, IFRS, Companies Act; escalate complex matters.
• Draft key reporting outputs such as audit opinion summaries and group packs.
• Lead and supervise audit assistants and seniors; provide feedback.
• Coach and develop junior team members.
• Ensure files meet quality and risk standards; follow firm methodologies.
• Maintain client relationships; assist with billing per plan.
• Collaborate with colleagues across service lines and contribute to firm initiatives.
