Job summary

Hoare Lea in the UK is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer or Senior Associate to deliver high-quality, sustainable electrical design across building services projects from Glasgow or Edinburgh. You will lead client engagement, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and ensure technical excellence throughout project delivery.

This role offers hybrid working, a supportive local team, and the chance to shape major schemes across residential, hospitality, commercial, healthcare and education

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered status for Senior Associate; desirable/working towards for Associate.
• Extensive project & client leadership experience.
• Strong technical competence in electrical building services and regulations.
• Ability to lead integrated design teams and deliver accurate designs.
• Excellent client-facing communication and commercial awareness.
• Proven people leadership and ability to develop team members.
• Highly organised with strong planning skills; able to meet tight timescales.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary client contact for projects; define briefs and represent Hoare Lea professionally.
• Promote Hoare Lea’s services to create opportunities and support client objectives.
• Lead and coordinate project teams; prioritise workloads and chair internal meetings.
• Deliver profitable, high-quality schemes; monitor costs and resource needs.
• Delegate, review and coach junior staff; contribute to staff development.
• Maintain awareness of contract terms, procurement routes and risks.
• Share technical knowledge and ensure compliance with standards.
• Build and maintain client/consultant/contractor relationships for repeat business.
