Job summary

Hoare Lea is recruiting for an Associate or Senior Associate Electrical Engineer in Leeds. You will lead high-quality electrical design across building services, manage client relationships, and drive multi-disciplinary schemes with a collaborative team.

The role offers hybrid working, professional development, and exposure to diverse projects in the built environment. The position requires Chartered status for Senior Associate or progression towards it for Associate, plus extensive leadership

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical/Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
Chartered status required for Senior Associate; desirable/working towards for Associate.
Extensive project and client leadership experience.
Strong technical competence in electrical building services; regs and design guides.

Responsibilities

Act as primary client contact for projects; define briefs and represent Hoare Lea at meetings.
Promote Hoare Lea’s services to create opportunities and support client objectives.
Lead and coordinate project teams; prioritise workloads; chair internal project meetings.
Deliver profitable, high‑quality schemes; monitor costs and resource needs.
Delegate, review and check work from junior staff; contribute to staff development.
Maintain awareness of consultant appointment conditions; identify and mitigate risks.
Contribute to technical knowledge sharing; ensure accuracy and compliance.
Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
