Job summary

Hoare Lea is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer or Senior Associate to lead high-quality, sustainable electrical design across building services projects in Scotland and the wider UK. The role is based in Glasgow or Edinburgh with hybrid working options.

You will manage client relationships, lead project teams, and contribute to business development while delivering technically excellent schemes for a diverse range of sectors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered status for Senior Associate; desirable for Associate.
• Extensive project and client leadership experience.
• Strong technical competence in electrical building services.
• Ability to lead integrated design teams and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Excellent client-facing communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary client contact; define briefs and represent Hoare Lea in meetings.
• Promote Hoare Lea’s services to create opportunities and objectives.
• Lead and coordinate project teams; manage workloads and meetings.
• Deliver profitable, high-quality schemes; monitor costs and resources.
• Mentor junior staff; contribute to performance objectives.
• Maintain awareness of procurement routes, commercial risks, and design standards.
• Share technical knowledge and ensure compliance with standards.
• Build relationships with clients, consultants and contractors to secure repeat business.
