Job summary

Hoare Lea is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer or Senior Associate Electrical Engineer to deliver high-quality, sustainable electrical designs across Scotland and the wider UK. The role can be based in Glasgow or Edinburgh, with hybrid working and a broad project mix across residential, hospitality, commercial, healthcare, and education sectors.

You will lead client relationships, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, and contribute to business development while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered status for Senior Associate; working towards for Associate.
• Extensive project and client leadership experience.
• Strong technical competence in electrical building services and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary client contact; define briefs; represent Hoare Lea at meetings.
• Promote Hoare Lea’s services to create opportunities.
• Lead and coordinate project teams; prioritise workloads; chair meetings.
• Deliver profitable, high-quality schemes; monitor costs and resources.
• Delegate and review junior staff; support staff development.
• Maintain awareness of procurement routes and commercial risks.
• Contribute to technical knowledge sharing; ensure compliance.
• Build and maintain client, consultant, contractor relationships.
