Job summary

Hoare Lea in Leeds is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate Electrical Engineer to deliver high quality, sustainable electrical design across building services projects. Based in our Leeds office, you will lead client relationships and multi‑discipline teams to meet project goals.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered status for Senior Associate; Associate working towards is acceptable.
• Extensive project and client leadership experience.
• Strong technical competence in electrical building services and design guides.
• Ability to lead integrated design teams and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Excellent client-facing, written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated commercial awareness to monitor costs and mitigate risks.
• Proven leadership of people and delivery on projects.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary client contact for projects; define briefs and represent Hoare Lea professionally.
• Promote Hoare Lea’s services to create opportunities and support client objectives.
• Lead and coordinate project teams (including specialists); prioritise workloads and chair internal meetings.
• Deliver profitable, high-quality schemes; monitor costs and resource needs.
• Delegate, review and develop junior staff; contribute to staff development.
• Maintain awareness of procurement routes and commercial risks; mitigate risks.
• Contribute to technical knowledge sharing and ensure standards compliance.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants and contractors to support repeat business.
