Job summary

DXC Technology is seeking a Senior Applications Engineer to deliver hybrid on-site and remote support from Reading. You will handle the full lifecycle of application management, optimize performance, resolve complex production bugs, and mentor junior staff in a fast-paced client environment.

The role supports transitions, ensures service delivery within budgets and SLAs, and involves ITIL-aligned processes and ISO/industry standards. Rotating shifts and potential on-call may apply.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in application support or IT service desk.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis.
• Experience in live production environments.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Microsoft certifications (Azure Fundamentals/Administrator) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform early morning checks to ensure applications are healthy.
• Monitor, diagnose, and resolve issues in Windows desktop/server apps.
• Own and resolve complex 2nd/3rd line issues within SLAs.
• Plan and execute upgrades, patches, and impact analyses.
• Provide guidance and coaching to junior analysts.
• Create knowledge base articles and how-to guides.
• Collaborate with team and client on ongoing delivery.
